Pavlov here, but most people call me Barry.
I was born in Wisconsin, and have lived in the Middle East and South Asia half my life and in the Mid West the other half. I'm a PK/MK (preacher's kid, missionary kid). My dad (the P and one of the M's in my family) also happens to be my hero.
I'm grateful to have had the opportunities to live and travel in about 25 countries. I have known some other languages but rust has set in deeply, and I mainly stick with English. Language is so powerful and so flawed.
Technically I guess I'm a WASP but don't aspire to the type. I'm a Christian (which I would define as someone who seeks to know and follow Jesus as the main thing in life) but I don't often use that word without setting the context, to communicate to strangers what my faith is about. It's a word loaded with many associations that aren't helpful or true to the source.
As a profession I design and create visual and digital communication: websites, multimedia, photography , video. By former profession and sometimes recurring hobby I'm a quasi carpenter.
My life is graced with a wonderful wife and two wonderful daughters, from whom I learn so much about God, myself, our world, and what matters most.
I love music: rock, alt rock, prog rock, jazz, blues, acoustic, and some folk, classical, and international. Rhythm. I love laughter, both giving and receiving. I enjoy, photography, cooking, dining, travel, road trips, walking, reading, good conversation, writing, coffee, chocolate. I enjoy friendship, learning, and journey.
"Brain drizzles from left right and center" (cerebral salivary impulses?) more or less fits the intent of this blog. Left brain and right brain and how they fill in a picture. What's right, and what's left, in a spectrum of creative tension, hopefully in good moderation and some degree of balance.
